viscous

Glossary

Viscous describes a liquid with a high viscosity (thickness), meaning it flows more slowly than water.

In the context of Styrian pumpkin seed oil: Compared with other culinary oils, Styrian pumpkin seed oil is noticeably more viscous – a typical sensory characteristic of the product. This property is due to the specific fatty acid composition and to constituents from the roasting process. When poured from the bottle, the oil flows more slowly than sunflower oil, for example.
